ADF health facilities across the country are receiving major upgrades as part of a new Commonwealth government investment.

The Commonwealth government has invested $212.5 million in an overhaul of 13 ADF health facilities, as part of the Joint Health Command Garrison Facilities Upgrade Project.
This is expected to support the provision of primary health care services, which includes dental care, pharmaceutical support, mental health services, physiotherapy and allied health care services.
Locations include:
- South Bandiana Barracks, VIC
- Duntroon, ACT
- Holsworthy Barracks, NSW
- Campbell Barracks, WA
- RAAF Base Pearce, WA
- Robertson Barracks, NT
- Puckapunyal Military Area, VIC
- Simpson Barracks, VIC
- RAAF Base Townsville, QLD
- Gallipoli Barracks, QLD
- Larrakeyah Barracks, NT
- Oakey Army Aviation Centre, QLD
- RAAF Base Darwin, NT
Since the project’s inception, five new and four refurbished health facilities across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Western Australia, Northern Territory and the ACT have been completed, with the last upgrade scheduled for completion in March 2023.
Following a visit to the refurbished Pearce Health Centre at RAAF Base Pearce, Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price reflected on the benefits of the infrastructure revamp.
“These projects around the nation will deliver outstanding health services to more than 34,750 active ADF members, significantly contributing to operational capability,” Minister Price said.
The upgrades are estimated to be supporting approximately 5,800 workers across the country.
“The local builders, electricians, plumbers and other tradespeople who support these upgrades are an important part of Australia’s Defence industry helping to deliver these important capabilities for the ADF,” Minister Price added.
