Veterans SA is set to visit the Riverland in regional South Australia this month, in a bid to connect the local community with its support services.
The visit has been organised in partnership with local councils and organisations, including Australian Partners of Defence (APOD), the Legacy Club of South Australia & Broken Hill, Open Arms, the Partners of Veterans’ Association, Plympton Veterans’ Centre, RSL South Australia and Soldier On.
The program is expected to include a Veterans Wellbeing Workshop, presented by RSL Care.
“Our team is excited to connect with and support veterans and their families in the Riverland, as well as local businesses, organisations and the local community,” Veterans SA director Catherine Walsh said.
“These outreach visits, in partnership with veterans' organisations and the community, help increase awareness about the opportunities, advice and information available to veterans and their families that best suit their needs and circumstances.
“It is also an important opportunity for Veterans SA to hear feedback directly from our community and to explore areas for improvement in the support offered to the veteran community across the state.”
The Riverland visit is scheduled to commence in Berri on Thursday, 18 November, before continuing in Loxton on Friday, 19 November.
