Bisalloy Steel Group has named Rowan Melrose as its managing director and CEO, effective from 1 March 2022.
Melrose joins Bisalloy from Bradken, where he has served as executive general manager since 2018.
The new CEO holds over 30 years’ experience in the industry, which has included stints at Robit Australia, Sandvik, Joy Manufacturing, Voest Alpine and Rio Tinto.
Melrose has managed businesses across Australia, south-east Asia, China, India and New Zealand.
“We are delighted to secure a managing director and CEO of Rowan’s calibre and experience to lead Bisalloy through the next phase of growth,” chairman of Bisalloy, David Balkin AO, said
“His experience across different geographies and the industries in which we compete will be of great benefit to Bisalloy.”
Melrose welcomed the opportunity to spearhead Bisalloy’s operations.
“I am looking forward to taking on the leadership role at Bisalloy and working with the team at Bisalloy to ensure a bright future for the business,” he said.
“The company has an excellent reputation, and our products are already highly regarded across world markets.”
Michael Gundy, previously non-executive director of Bisalloy, will continue serving as interim managing director and CEO until Melrose assumes the role in March.
