According to Veterans SA, $30,000 (excluding GST) has been allocated for the 2021-22 financial year with all applicants judged against essential criteria, including “community needs, purpose and outcomes, connection to the wider community and value for money”.
Chantelle Bohan, director of Veterans SA, explained that the new Veterans SA Seed Funding Grant was founded to help organisations undertake projects that support the veteran community including former service personnel and their families.
“There are a number of organisations in the South Australian community who are running community-based projects that provide veterans and their families with important social connections and positive engagement opportunities,” Bohan said.
“This grant has been created to support those activities and will be allocated to projects where a real community need has been identified.
“The program recognises the evolving needs of veterans and their families and will provide funding to emerging organisations to help address these needs within our veteran community.”
The creation of the Seeding Fund Grant by Veterans SA, a South Australian government agency, follows the foundation the Capacity Building Fund and Commemorative Services Fund.
The Veterans SA Capacity Building Fund was created to help strengthen governance structures and capacity building skills of veteran organisations, with the Commemorative Services Fund supporting memorial events.
All three applications close Thursday, 31 March 2022.
