The Canadian Department of National Defence has tasked Elbit Systems UK with supplying its TORCH-X based Battle Management Application (BMA) to support the country’s Airspace Coordination Centre Modernisation (ASCCM) project.
Specifically, Elbit Systems UK will be responsible for supplying a joint-air version of its TORCH-X BMA to provide situational awareness by displaying a local or recognised air picture, enabling effective co-ordination of air assets into complex land and joint battlespace.
The system is set to leverage Elbit Systems’ E-CIX open architecture framework to enable connectivity to the Canadian Armed Forces’ legacy applications and tactical datalinks while also allowing future integration of new applications.
Ultimately, Elbit’s offering is expected to be provided to the Canadian Military Headquarters for both Land and Joint Command, helping to support air missions and joint-task force operations.
“The selection of the TORCH-X based BMA solution underlines the strength of the partnership among Five Eyes nations and highlights the quality and reliability of our multi-domain command and control systems,” Martin Fausset, CEO of Elbit Systems UK, said.
This is Elbit’s latest combat system contract, after the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) tapped Elbit Systems subsidiary Elbit Systems Sweden AB for the supply of the Albatross Combat Management Systems (CMS).
Elbit has been tasked with integrating the CMS across the Royal Swedish Navy’s Spårö Class mine countermeasure (MCM) vessels over a period of 34 months.
The Albatross CMS is billed as a scalable open architecture system, which leverages Elbit’s E-CIX platform to enable commanders and operators to receive a common operational picture correlating underwater detection and surface tracks.
