Elbit Systems has been awarded a US$130 million ($172.8 million) contract to provide an artillery munitions production line for an undisclosed country in the Asia-Pacific.
The two-and-a-half-year contract is set to involve the construction of a turnkey industrial complex for enhanced manufacturing of artillery munitions.
“This contract award attests to the quality of our portfolio and to our proven capability to perform technology co-operations in partnering countries,” Bezhalel Machlis, president and CEO of Elbit Systems, said.
This is the latest of a number of contracts awarded to the company this month, with Elbit Systems recently securing a US$27 million contract from the Swedish Defence Material Administration for the delivery of 120mm ammunition.
Specifically, Elbit Systems agreed to provide the Swedish Armed Forces with 120mm M339 rounds as well as Data Setting Units for the country’s Leopard Main Battle Tanks.
According to the company, the M339 is a high accuracy 120mm tank ammunition that is compliant with NATO 120mm smooth bore battle tanks.
The contract is expected to last 10 months.
Earlier in the month, the Canadian Department of National Defence also tasked Elbit Systems UK with supplying its TORCH-X based Battle Management Application (BMA) to support the country’s Airspace Coordination Centre Modernisation (ASCCM) project.
Specifically, Elbit Systems UK will be responsible for supplying a joint-air version of its TORCH-X BMA to provide situational awareness by displaying a local or recognised air picture, enabling effective co-ordination of air assets into complex land and joint battlespace.
