The defence company has appointed a former ANSTO executive to its leadership committee.

Peter Arambatzis has been named as Nova Systems’ new chief financial officer, effective immediately.
Arambatzis, who replaces retiring CFO Jill Noble, joins the company from Law In Order, a document and digital solutions supplier for the legal industry.
The new appointee previously held senior roles at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), which included stints as CFO and group executive business, operations and systems.
Arambatzis, who is expected to relocate from Sydney to Nova Systems’ Adelaide head office, joins the executive committee.
He will be tasked with overseeing financial, commercial, and legal business services, and security and technology operations.
The new CFO has also been charged with implementing enterprise resource planning.
“I am looking forward to joining Nova Systems, a growing sovereign Australian company with vast potential,” Arambatzis said.
Nova Systems CEO Jim McDowell welcomed Arambatzis to the role and acknowledged the contributions of outgoing CFO Jill Noble.
“Jill has supported Nova’s journey over the past 10 years and has been committed and passionate about Nova’s vision, supporting the growth of the organisation from a $51 million to a $335 million business and building a highly capable finance and commercial team,” McDowell said.
“I would like to thank Jill for all she has contributed to building Nova Systems to where we are today and setting us up for future success.”
The appointment comes just a day after Nova Systems announced its partnership with ST Engineering Antycip.
The pair are expected to develop a capability concept demonstrator to deliver novel mission training solutions to the British Royal Air Force.
The solution aims to provide the RAF with a synthetic mission training prototype that enables pilots to conduct difficult exercises, tactics and training simulations that would be otherwise costly or challenging in a live environment.
Under the partnership, it is expected that the F-35 will be integrated into the Gladiator platform, providing a synthetic training environment for the F-35 that is low-cost and targeted-fidelity.
