KBR has announced that Nic Maan will take up the role of vice-president (VP) for its government solutions APAC business after its current VP, Rob Hawketts, took the decision to retire effective 31 July 2023.

Nic Maan will assume the role of vice-president for government solutions APAC from 1 June 2023. This will afford time for an effective transition, working to engage KBR’s people, customers and stakeholders.

An experienced engineer and program manager, Maan joined KBR in 2022. He has held senior executive roles across defence, including aerospace, satellite communications, secure communications, and space.

Hawketts has been with the company for 24 years in total and has served as vice-president since 2015. During his tenure, Hawketts has achieved significant business growth and success for the company.

Hawketts said, “After 24 years of service with this great company, I have decided that it is time for me to retire. It has been an honour to lead this organisation and work alongside such a talented and dedicated team. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and have no doubt that KBR will continue to thrive.”

Maan said, “KBR has over 60 years of deep experience in Australia working on Defence programs and a global footprint across US, UK, and other international partners to leverage. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to working with our leadership team to continue to execute on our strategy and deliver value to our customers.”

Paul Kahn, president, government solutions International said, “We are grateful to Rob for his contributions to KBR over the years. Under his leadership, the company has achieved tremendous success and growth in Australia. We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
