Quickstep and TAFE NSW announce training program

Quickstep Holdings has announced an agreement with TAFE NSW to support composites manufacturing training program (Source Lockheed Martin)

Quickstep is partnering with TAFE NSW Padstow on the development and implementation of a comprehensive composites manufacturing training program for all new employees starting at the company’s advanced manufacturing facilities in Bankstown, NSW.

The initial phase, a new induction program, was launched on Monday, 6 August 2018, with the first group due to complete and be on the shop floor by 20 August. All new manufacturing employees commencing at Quickstep will attend TAFE NSW Padstow to complete 10 units of competency from the Certificate III in Polymer Processing.

This program will be undertaken over a two-week period this program will lead to the formal quality accreditation for all employees.

The TAFE NSW training has been introduced to significantly reduce the time it takes to bring a new employee up to a competent operator level. The program represents the first step in a broader collaboration with TAFE NSW providing career-long vocational and technical training across the business.
