DEWC Systems and REDARC have signed a multi-year agreement to collaborate on the design and development of electronic warfare solutions.

DEWC Systems and REDARC have signed a multi-year agreement to collaborate on the design and development of electronic warfare solutions.

The multimillion-dollar deal between the two companies was designed to improve DEWC Systems' portfolio of electronic warfare capabilities.

“DEWC Systems is excited to partner with REDARC. The combined strengths of REDARC and DEWC Systems, we will be able to deliver the latest sovereign electronic warfare systems for Defence,” Ian Spencer, chief executive of DEWC Systems, said.

Established in 2018, DEWC Systems has prioritised Australian innovation, becoming the first Australian company to launch a payload into orbit from Australia.

“We have developed several products with applications ranging across a number of industries and with the capabilities of REDARC to support us, DEWC Systems will soon be able to deliver the highest quality products manufactured locally,” Spencer continued.

“With the appointment of Anthony Kittel to the DEWC Systems board, the future looks very promising for us and the Australian Defence Industry.”

Anthony Kittle, chief executive officer and managing director of REDARC Electronics explained that the partnership would provide better outcomes for Australian clients.

“As two Australian SME defence companies, the decision to partner in such a way demonstrates our commitment to providing the best capabilities to our defence customers in Australia and overseas,” Kittel explained.

“Through collaboratively working under a longer term partnership we can ensure the strengths of DEWC Systems’ product design can be supported through REDARC’s ability to take products through to manufacture and ongoing sustainment globally.”

Last month, DEWC Systems and the University of Adelaide’s Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML) have announced the commencement of a partnership to better understand how to apply artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect radio frequencies in difficult environments using MOESS and Wombat S3 technology.

Both organisations have already undertaken significant research on Phase 1 of the Miniaturised Orbital Electronic Sensor System (MOESS) project, with the collaboration hoping to enhance the research yet further.

The original goal of the MOESS was to develop a platform to perform an array of applications and develop an automatic signal classification process. The Wombat 3 is a ground-based version of the MOESS.
