The 11th International Exhibition of Arms and Military Machinery runs from 17 to 20 May at Minsk Arena multifunctional cultural and sports complex in Minsk, Belarus.
The exhibition showcases advanced models of weaponry and military equipment designed by the engineering companies of Belarus, Russia, and other international defence companies. State Military-Industrial Committee and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Belarus are the chief organisers.
The MRO-A 4.7-kilogram hand-held jet flamethrower with thermobaric composition warhead was shown for the first time by Rostec State Corporation at the expo. It is designed to defeat defended buildings, automotive and lightly armoured vehicles.
“Russian weapons are rightfully considered one of the best in the world. At the exhibition in Minsk, we will present our most modern developments, including those that have been tested in combat,” said Rostec State Corporation armaments complex industrial director Bekhan Ozdoev.
“For the first time, MILEX demonstrates the latest MPO-A jet flamethrower. Visitors will see a line of Kalashnikov assault rifles and pistols, a wide range of ammunition and shells, air defence systems, and artillery fire control systems. Of course, there will also be armoured vehicles.”
Russian defence vehicle manufacturer Uralvagonzavod has committed to displaying its upgraded T-72 main battle tank at the expo. The T-72 reportedly features increased firepower, security, mobility, and command controllability and will showcase alongside a T-90MS “Breakthrough” tank with third-generation modular dynamic protection and an upgraded gun.
The company will also showcase BMPT tank support combat vehicle (with guided missiles, 30mm automatic guns, grenade launchers, 7.62mm machine gun) alongside a cross-country IMR-3M engineering obstacle blocking vehicle with universal dozer blade and a telescopic boom with a manipulator.
Russian defence exporter Rosoboronexport will showcase aviation equipment including the Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft, the Su-35 multipurpose super-manoeuvrable fighter, the Mi-17V-5 military transport helicopter, the Mi-35M and Mi-35 helicopters.
Rosoboronexport director general Alexander Mikheev said the company will present state-of-the-art equipment such as modernised Mi-28NE and Ka-52 helicopter versions.
“We are showing innovative competitive developments that demonstrate the powerful technological potential of Russian enterprises,” he said.
“In the year of the 20th anniversary of the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the 70th anniversary of Russia’s military-technical cooperation system, we celebrate the highest level of cooperation between our countries, mutual trust and an unprecedented scale of industrial cooperation in the field of joint development and production of modern products.”
Rosoboronexport will also showcase Viking anti-aircraft missile system, Tor-M2KM air defence system, Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile, T-90MS tank, Sprut-SDM1 light amphibious tank, the BTR-82A armoured personnel carrier, the TOS-1A heavy flamethrower system and the Kornet-EM anti-tank missile system, as well as the protected vehicles Typhoon-K K- 53949, “Typhoon-VDV” and “Lens” protected ambulance.
Small arms on display include the 7.62x54-mm Chukavin sniper rifle from the Kalashnikov Concern, Kalashnikov assault rifles of various calibers including the 200th series, AK-12, AK-15, AK-19, AK-308, Kalashnikov PPK-20 submachine gun, Lebedev pistol, SR1.M pistol, and ShAK-12 assault rifle system.
A light electroshock shield will also feature as individual protection for law enforcement officers at close range.
