Diehl signed the agreement with Nordic Ammunition Company (Nammo) AS and the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support on 10 July.
Both companies will collaborate to deliver high-performance artillery DiNa 155mm ammunition in the long term to the German Armed Forces.
A Diehl Defence spokesperson said the DiNa 155mm range and precision-designed projectiles meet the artillery capability requirements of conventional tube artillery in the field and has a deep intrusion capability with adaptable fuzes.
“The DiNa 155mm provides the German Armed Forces with a modern and future-proof projectile from European production, meeting all of Germany’s capability requirements in terms of range, modularity, and logistical security of supply,” they said.
“It also offers the possibility of adapting modern fuzes or course correction modules.
“The importance of artillery and the availability of artillery ammunition, in particular, is illustrated on a daily basis in the Ukraine war.
“The demand for artillery ammunition has increased significantly not only in Germany, but in all EU and NATO countries. Therefore, over the next decades, high quantities of 155mm ammunition will be requested for the support of Ukraine, but also for national stockpiling.”
