Poland’s Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, and a delegation of government officials have toured the AH-64 Apache production line in America.

The Polish delegation met with Boeing leaders at the Boeing Mesa site in Arizona on 25 September to celebrate Poland’s AH-64 Apache selection to enhance the European country’s interoperability.

The US government approved the foreign military sale of 96 new AH-64 Apache attack helicopters to Poland in August 2023. It had originally announced intentions to acquire the attack helicopters in 2022 to improve interoperability with the US Army and NATO nations.

“We are working closely with both governments to finalise this sale and look forward to delivering the first Apache to Poland,” said Heidi Grant, Boeing Defense, Space and Security business development president.

“Poland will become the second largest Apache operator in the world, after the US Army.”

The Mesa facility is reportedly capable of delivering 80 Apaches per year, while more than 1,290 Apaches are currently operating worldwide supported by Boeing Global Services.

“Our team is honoured to host Minister Błaszczak and grateful for the trust Poland has placed in the AH-64 Apache to address their national security needs,” said Kathleen Jolivette, Vertical Lift vice-president and general manager.

“This is a positive step toward Poland becoming the newest customer to operate the Apache.”
