Australian business AVS has announced its intention to join a C4 consortium called C4 EDGE.

Newcastle-based Applied Virtual Simulation (AVS) has confirmed that it has joined the C4 EDGE consortium, where it hopes to integrate its expertise in simulation with the Australian Army’s ongoing training schedule.
AVS currently operates a range training systems for the Australian Army, including sniper and route clearance simulations.
Meanwhile, the C4 EDGE (Evolutional Digital Ground Environment) consortium includes world leading command and control experts who hope to identify the delivery of a new army communications framework. EOS Defence Systems Matthew Jones currently serves as the C4 Edge lead.
Director of AVS Martin Carr welcomed the opportunity to work with C4 EDGE and to collaborate with leading C4 experts.
"We've had a great experience working with EOS and other consortium partners on C4 EDGE. Through a focused and collaborative approach we've been able to make rapid progress integrating our technology. We are enthusiastic about the potential training outcomes which can be achieved through a deep integration between simulation environments and C4 EDGE, and believe that this undertaking will deliver new opportunities, particularly in the collective training domain. It's extremely rewarding to be working with leading Australian companies who share the common purpose of building a truly innovative sovereign capability,” Carr said.
Matthew Jones, general manager Land C4I of EOS Defence Systems and project lead for C4 EDGE, described how AVS will integrate into the existing C4 infrastructure: “AVS bring a world-class Australian simulation capability to the C4 EDGE demonstration. The open architecture approach adopted by C4 EDGE makes integration with AVS simple to implement and showcases collaboration with future training systems.”
AVS has previously collaborated with consortium partner EOS on the Remote Weapon Station Desktop Trainer, and is expecting to co-deliver simulation aids for EOS’ Titanis C-UAS.
