Elbit Systems of Australia confirmed that the company is hosting an industry day on Friday, 3 December 2021 to greater develop the company’s Australian industry capability (AIC) and industry partnerships.

According to a release from the company, the industry day was launched to enhance the company’s collaboration with Australian industry following Elbit Systems of Australia’s (ELSA) shortlisting for the LAND 125 Phase 4 bid.
Major General (Ret’d) Paul McLachlan, AO, CSC, managing director of ELSA, explained that the day was launched as AIC was central to the company’s ambitions.
“While we are placing the soldier at the centre of the Land 125 Phase 4 bid, we will stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow Australian businesses to bolster local supply chains and create jobs,” McLachlan said.
“We already have runs on the board, collaborating with the Victorian government and universities in our robotics and innovation hub – the Centre of Excellence – in addition to various SMEs, defence industry, as well as our recent partnership with the Australian Missile Corporation.
“The shortlisting also demonstrates our commitment to continue to work with defence to provide a capability that will increase the effectiveness of Australian soldiers.
“We are committed to put the soldier centre stage and have the proven demonstrated ability to produce leading-edge soldier systems from global technology using a highly-skilled sovereign workforce here in Australia.
“I look forward to welcoming attendees from across Australia.”
In August, ELSA launched its new Centre of Excellence in collaboration with the Victorian government in February earlier this year, while their university partnerships program is expected to commence from 16 August.
McLachlan noted that the partnerships enabled the company’s defence technology to remain cutting edge.
“Our global businesses successfully partner with universities to showcase new technologies and to demonstrate collaboration between industry and research institutions,” McLachlan said.
“I am extremely proud that we now have the ability to partner with them right here in Australia using our sovereign research and development (R&D) centre that will grow both Victoria’s and the nation’s technology footprint.
“Australian universities have outstanding reputations and demonstrated abilities to work with industry and we are delighted to collaborate and have the opportunity to workshop innovative solutions for our world-leading technology.”
The technology being workshopped at the company’s Centre of Excellence include new command and control equipment built on Elbit’s E-CIX framework. The E-CIX is an open architecture platform, which can incorporate third-party integrations, which supports and enhances the operator’s situational awareness.
