Kraken will deliver its KATFISH high-speed mine-hunting solution, as well as support and sustainment options such as training, spares, and operational support to the unnamed large Asia-Pacific country.
The delivery will include towed synthetic aperture sonar, winch and autonomous launch and recovery system in late 2023.
“Kraken’s equipment will be integrated onboard a vessel of opportunity selected by the customer. Continuing to build off successful KATFISH deliveries with various NATO navies, this represents Kraken’s first KATFISH system sale in the Asia-Pacific region,” a company spokesperson said.
Kraken Robotics has already provided demonstrations of the KATFISH earlier this year, during a 200-kilometre seabed survey using real-time ultra- high-resolution imagery and bathymetry of the sea floor along coastal waters.
