Israel-based international defence electronics company Elbit Systems deployed the countermeasure dispensing system and integrated electronic warfare suite for a series of sea trials onboard Israeli Navy vessels.
The DESEAVER MK-4 provides soft kill anti-missile defence capabilities against multiple missile attacks from multiple directions by rapidly launching passive and active decoys from several launchers using anti-missile algorithms.
Oren Sabag, Elbit Systems intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) and electronic warfare general manager, said similar to its predecessors, the fourth generation of the DESEAVER system is fully integrated with other ship combat systems.
“We are proud of our ongoing cooperation with and support of the Israeli Navy,” he said.
“The successful completion of these trials provides further proof of the reliability of our technology and the advanced protection capabilities they provide against new and evolving threats.”
The company has also recently announced a $60 million, one-year long contract to supply 155mm artillery shells to the Israel Ministry of Defense and Israel Defense Forces’ Artillery Corps on 31 July.
“Elbit Systems is proud to be a leading supplier to the IDF, supporting its ongoing operational requirements,” said Yehuda ‘Udi’ Vered, Elbit Systems general manager – land.
“The expansion and the upgrade of our production infrastructure enables the provision of rapid production of a range of high-quality solutions to the Israel Ministry of Defense.
“We continue to implement the company’s strategy that supports the local economy and employment across the nation, from Kiryat Shemona in the Galilee to Ramat Bekaa in the Negev.”
