Serco partners with CAE, Sayres and JMC to enhance Navy nav, synthetic warfare training

Serco has inked fresh teaming agreements with CAE, Sayres Australia and JMC to enhance the capabilities and operational readiness of Navy warfare sailors and officers through innovative, integrated training solutions.

Serco has inked fresh teaming agreements with CAE, Sayres Australia and JMC to enhance the capabilities and operational readiness of Navy warfare sailors and officers through innovative, integrated training solutions.

The move underlines Serco’s long-standing partnership with the Royal Australian Navy at HMAS Watson – a collaboration that has been in place since 2003.

Building on over 125 years of combined expertise in Navy training, the new partnerships will see the delivery of high-quality, simulator-based maritime warfare training and support services. The initiatives are set to provide cutting-edge training programs designed to prepare Navy personnel for the demanding scenarios they face at sea.

Serco defence managing director Pete Behrendt said the alliance with Sayres would deliver significant improvements in both training delivery and efficiency.

“By teaming up with CAE, a global leader in transforming military training and technology, and partnering with JMC for specialist technology enhancements, we’re poised to elevate the training experience for our Navy personnel. These partnerships ensure our Navy stays ahead of emerging warfare techniques and new technologies,” he said.

Matthew Sibree, managing director Indo-Pacific at CAE defence and security, added: “Building on decades of excellence in delivering integrated training solutions to the Australian Defence Force, we are proud to join this team. This agreement reaffirms CAE’s commitment to equipping Navy personnel with the maritime, technical and social mastery essential for excelling in today’s ever-evolving naval operations.”

Sayres Australia CEO Craig Powell GAICD echoed the forward-thinking sentiment, emphasising that the continuous evolution of warfare techniques and technologies necessitates a reimagining of how training is delivered.

“Together, we aim to revolutionise where, when and how training is delivered, ensuring that Navy officers and sailors have the full spectrum of operational capabilities,” he said.

The collaboration with CAE, Sayres Australia and JMC marks a significant milestone in Serco’s ongoing commitment to support the Royal Australian Navy’s mission to fight and win at sea.
