Under the agreement, Damen, which has supplied over 6,000 vessels in its company's history, will be responsible for supplying the Sigma 10514 platform that will be adapted to meet the demands of the Brazilian Navy.
Meanwhile, Saab will provide the Saab 9LV combat management system, used by navies from several countries, including Australia, and which is known for its flexibility and easy integration of third-party modules.
The Brazilian navy is seeking four general-purpose corvettes under CCT to replace the Barroso type that is currently in service.
In addition to supplying the corvettes, the partner companies are proposing a thorough technology transfer program for much of the project to benefit Brazil's national defence industry.
The companies will be at RIDEX, a security and defence fair in Rio de Janeiro, from 27-29 June, at a common space, where they will present details of the proposal.
