The frigate is the seventh of eight ships to undergo a highly complex Anti-Ship Missile Defence (ASMD) program upgrade.
The $500 million program involves providing the fleet with a world leading defence capability.
The capability developed at Henderson will play a key role in supporting the Commonwealth government’s National Shipbuilding Enterprise.
The same industry-wide collaboration seen at Henderson will be required to ensure the many future surface ship programs are successfully delivered to the RAN.
Bae Systems' work on the current program and the future ANZAC Midlife Capability Assurance Program (AMCAP) will ensure these ships provide the RAN with the capability it needs until the Future Frigates are brought into service.
HMAS Toowoomba has received some 600,000 hours of work. The final ship, HMAS Stuart, will be completed in mid-2017.
