Australian company Transtar has announced its UK sister company, TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) has secured a significant contract with UK Ministry of Defence.

The contract will see TVS SCS, who have a growing Australian footprint through Transtar in Melbourne, provide procurement, service management, supply support, equipment upkeep management and technical services for a range of items used by the UK's Royal Navy.
TVS SCS, already a large contractor to the UK MoD, play a key role in the MoD's strategy of modernising inventory management, procurement and maintaining a supply chain that is responsive to the needs of the military. This capability is being adopted by its subsidiaries, like Transtar, across the globe.
Paul Kettle, business development director at TVS SCS, said, "We are delighted to have secured this contract for the supply and management of a wide range of items required by the Royal Navy. It underpins our strategy of providing world leading supply chain solutions to reduce the operating cost of our customers. The development of our ‘Retail’ Defence solution enables armed forces all over the world to access a secure online service to buy and gain delivery of a wide range of commodity items, thereby saving on inventory and warehousing costs."
TVS SCS currently provides its supply chain services to support a wide range of defence equipment and commodities, including: military vehicles, construction vehicles, clothing, food, fuel, medical equipment, field catering, pharmaceuticals and general engineering hardware.
