Victorian-headquartered Penske Power Systems has been revealed as the successful recipient of a $78 million contract to deliver diesel maintenance and support services for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The contract, announced by Minister for Defence Industry Christopher Pyne, will see Penske Power Systems support diesel equipment and auxiliary systems for both the Army and Navy.
The company, which employs over 700 across Australia and represents some of the leading global brands in the diesel and gas engine industry, works closely with the defence sector to provide customised propulsion and power generation solutions – as well as life-of-type logistic support for defence combatants.
As well as the defence sector, the business also holds key service and product contracts across the mining, oil and gas, marine, rail and agricultural industries.
Under the new five-year contract, Penske Power Systems will support the diesel equipment and auxiliary systems that power the Navy’s Anzac Class frigates, plus the Army’s ASLAV armoured fighting vehicles and the M113 armoured personnel carriers.
The breadth of services provided to the Navy by Penske will include depot-level maintenance and on-site defect rectification to the Anzac Class frigates.
The services for the Army will encapsulate depot-level maintenance services and program management.
According to Minister Pyne, the contract will support approximately 88 Australian jobs across four Penske locations in Kings Park, NSW; Henderson, WA; Wacol, Queensland; and Edinburgh, SA.
There is an option to extend the contract for a further five years.
