ASX-listed underwater drone company Aquabotix has revealed new functionality to its vehicles to deliver live remote viewing.

The Massachusetts-based company, which also has a presence in Sydney, manufactures and sells commercial and industrial-grade underwater drones and networked underwater cameras for both military and civilian markets.
The new live remote viewing function will allow users to view and interact in real time with Aquabotix’s vehicles via the cloud.
The functionality specifically relates to the Endura ROV and AquaLens Connect products, and marks, according to Aquabotix, the first time a company has offered digital inspection-class remote operated vehicles with live viewing capabilities.
Durval Tavares, Aquabotix’s chief executive, said the new development transforms an underwater vehicle, which was previously a singular disconnected entity, into one where multiple underwater technologies can work together to the one platform.
“By utilising the rise and reliability of IoT [the Internet of Things], we are confident live remote viewing will be a game changer in the work of underwater robotics and the start of many future cloud-driven innovations for Aquabotix," he said.
