The future ADF – a networked joint force
To be successful the ADF must plan not just for the conflicts of today, but the potential conflicts of the future. In a world where threats are evolving rapidly, the battlespace of the future is set to be a very different one.
The Commonwealth has invested significantly in upgrading and acquiring new defence platforms, but will these be enough to provide the security our nation needs?
Future battlefields will see military forces gain an advantage by coordinating and acting in a uniform way across all domains. This approach can allow the ADF‘s systems and platforms to work together in a cohesive, integrated operational environment.
By synchronising air and missile defence operations, the opportunity for Australia is to work towards providing a better understanding of the threats Australia faces while enhancing the speed of decision-making to defeat those threats.
