The Poppy Ball 2024, hosted by RSL LifeCare, will be held at Victoria Barracks in Sydney on Saturday, 23 November, with all proceeds going to provide key services for veterans and their families to help veterans transition from service life into civilian life.
Funds raised will be used for services including career transition support, counselling, financial assistance, DVA application assistance, housing support, wellbeing services and other services.
“Raytheon Australia is honoured to once again partner with RSL LifeCare in sponsoring this year’s Poppy Ball, a fundraising gala that uniquely celebrates the great value that veterans bring to the places they live and work,” according to Raytheon Australia managing director Ohad Katz.
“RSL LifeCare’s free services for veterans and their families, including DVA claims, financial support, and housing security, play an invaluable role in helping veterans and their families build fulfilling lives in civilian society – and we are proud to work alongside RSL LifeCare in this shared purpose.
“Every day, we see firsthand the extraordinary value that veterans bring to Raytheon Australia and the broader community. They contribute expertise across engineering, project management, logistics and more, leading with a strong sense of purpose that contributes to our team culture and achieving our collective goals.”
This year’s event is a black-tie cocktail event, with drinks, entertainment, and auctions, as well as an exclusive guest performance from John Schumann, writer of the icon Australian anthem, I Was Only 19.
“The Poppy Ball gives us an opportunity to celebrate their service and acknowledge the contributions of their families, whose support and resilience are key to veterans’ success during and after their service,” Katz said.
“Our commitment to veterans, who make up one-third of our workforce, reflects our values as a trusted partner of the Australian Defence Force for more than 25 years. On behalf of Raytheon Australia, I would like to thank RSL LifeCare for their longstanding dedication to veteran support and for the opportunity to contribute to this impactful cause.”
The event is sponsored by Raytheon Australia, Amazon Web Services, Archer Search, Cornerstone Government Relations, Bidfood, BGIS, Medclean, Bohemia Interactive Solutions, Contract Care, AJN Healthcare and Medilinks.
