REDARC Defence & Space will continue Asension’s work at the forefront of electronic warfare, engineering, operations, and grow partnerships with universities, the Defence Science and Technology Group, and industry partners, according to REDARC.
Asension announced a voluntary administration earlier this year. In 2022, Asension was awarded a significant $4.35 million grant through the Defence Innovation Hub to develop a space-based tactical sensor system for Defence.
“Asension’s innovative Wombat and MOESS solutions will provide sophisticated sovereign technologies to increase Australia’s Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (ISREW) capability," said a company statement published on 4 December.
“As part of the REDARC Group, REDARC Defence & Space is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge technology to meet the evolving demands of the defence and space industry. By acquiring Asension’s intellectual property, REDARC Defence & Space will continue the development and deployment of critical defence technologies.
“This acquisition underscores REDARC’s commitment to supporting the Australian defence industry and strengthening Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities.”
