The program is scheduled to run over three days, during which 12 primes will be assigned to meet four Australian SMEs each to connect and learn more about each other’s businesses.
It is hoped that the program will enable local SMEs to connect with the prime contractor’s supply chain and answer any critical questions that they may have.
“Giving SMEs and primes the opportunity to meet, communicate and collaborate is key to Australia’s successful delivery of vital projects. If we can kickstart these relationships, we are one step closer to a diverse but connected industry ecosystem, to ensure strong sovereign capability for years to come,” BenchOn chief executive officer Tim Walmsley said.
The program will be run from the Hays Collaboration Hub situated near the main entrance.
“While we were initially limited in the number of introductions we could make, the Queensland government has proudly thrown their support behind the program by providing us additional meeting spaces. This gives us the ability to make 200 - 400 facilitated introductions, which is just phenomenal.”
According to a release from BenchOn, the event is designed to achieve the following:
- Help link small business capability into the prime's supply chain.
- Promote the high-quality talent, products and services available in the market.
- Provide small businesses the opportunities to get their questions answered by the right people.
- Kickstart those relationships that may become highly beneficial to both parties.
